TITANS
The former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin (California) was built in 1942 and shuttered in 1999. The original blimp hangars remain, protected for their architectural achievements. Built entirely of wood due to the steel shortage during World War II, they stand 17 stories tall, 1,000 feet long and 300 feet wide. Many of the structures remain on the base, which is now surrounded by modern commercial and residential development.
